Cookie Policy

Last updated: 12 May 2026

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website can store on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember preferences and to provide information to the site owner about how the site is used. We also use the term “cookies” loosely in this policy to cover similar local-storage technology a website can use for the same purposes.

What we use on this website

We try to keep this website as private as we sensibly can. As of the last-updated date at the top of this page, the only persistent client-side storage this site sets by default is:

  • kp:cookie-consent:v1 — a single browser localStorage entry that remembers your cookie choice (accepted, rejected, or per-category) and the date you made it. This is strictly necessary to honour your preference and to avoid showing you the consent banner repeatedly. It is not a cookie in the HTTP sense and is not sent anywhere.

No analytics, advertising, social-media or marketing cookies are loaded on this website by default. If you opt in to analytics or marketing categories via the consent banner, the corresponding tools will be loaded — at present neither category has any tools wired up, so opting in has no immediate effect beyond recording your preference. We will update this page before that changes.

Cookie categories

When we do load additional cookies in future, we will group them into the same three categories used by our consent banner:

  • Strictly necessary. Required for the site to function — for example, remembering your consent choice. Always on; cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics. Anonymised usage data so we can understand how the site is used and improve it. Off by default. Only loaded after you opt in.
  • Marketing. Used to measure the effectiveness of paid campaigns, if and when we run them. Off by default. Only loaded after you opt in.

Third parties

Our website is hosted by Vercel Inc. As part of normal server operation Vercel records standard request metadata (such as IP address, request time and user agent). This is not stored in a cookie on your device. Vercel's privacy information is available at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

If you click an outbound link to a third-party site (for example our portfolio links), that site will operate under its own cookie and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of those sites.

How to change your choice

You can change your cookie choice at any time by clicking “Manage cookies” in the footer of any page on this website. That re-opens the consent banner with your current choice pre-loaded, and you can switch categories on or off and save.

You can also clear the kp:cookie-consent:v1 entry through your browser's privacy or developer tools, which will cause the consent banner to appear again on your next visit.

Every major browser also lets you block or delete cookies through its settings. Doing so may affect the experience on this and other websites.

Updates to this policy

We update this policy whenever we change how we use cookies — most importantly, before adding any new analytics or marketing tool. The “last updated” date at the top of the page tells you when the current version came into force.
